The Lady Behind CHIN-CHIN`s Espresso Martini: Sarah Elst

If there’s one drink in Regensburg that has achieved cult status, it’s our Espresso Martini. Creamy, elegant, full of character – this has been a signature cocktail at CHIN-CHIN for a long time now. But behind every signature drink, there’s a face, a story and a passion. For us, that’s Sarah Elst – bar manager from day one and the heart of our bar.

The Drink That Conquered Regensburg: the CHIN-CHIN Espresso Martini

No story about Sarah would be complete without the drink that is inseparably linked to her and Chin-Chin: Espresso Martini. As Sarah herself says, “The perfect Espresso Martini isn’t rocket science, but it does require love, timing and the right recipe.

👉And here’s her secret (which isn’t really a secret anymore – because we want to celebrate it!)

  • 4 cl Vodka

  • 2 cl coffee liqueur (Kahlua)

  • 1 cl sugar syrup - naturally homemade

  • 1 freshly brewed espresso (made using the finest beans from Dinzler`s Roastery, Irschenberg)

Shaken hard until a silky, fluffy crema appears, then topped with three coffee beans – a classic symbol of happiness, health and prosperity. The result? A drink that wakes you up, looks irresistible and is one of Regensburg’s most sought-after cocktails.

A smile to remember

Anyone who knows Sarah knows one thing: she practically never loses her cool. Colleagues claim you never see her without a smile. And that’s exactly what makes the difference – with her, every drink, every evening, and every visit feels just that little bit more special.

Thank you, Sarah – for being you, for your team and for your Espresso Martini.

Here at Chin-Chin, we’ve been lucky to benefit from Sarah’s expertise, passion and energy for over a decade. She’s much more than a bar manager – she’s the heart of our bar and the spirit behind our signature cocktail

Thanks, Sarah, for all the years – and here`s to the next ten!
