Silver Star for the CHIN-CHIN Bar: Regensburg Shines on the International Wine Stage

The CHIN-CHIN Bar has been awarded a Silver Star at the Star Wine List of the Year Germany-Austria-Switzerland 2026. A very special recognition for our wine selection, our team, and for a bar culture that is deeply rooted in Regensburg — and is now receiving international attention as well.

Star Wine List is considered one of the world’s leading international guides for outstanding wine bars and wine restaurants — often described as the “Michelin Guide of the wine world”. The platform connects wine lovers, sommeliers, restaurants and bars across the globe, shining a spotlight on exceptional places for wine culture.

The CHIN-CHIN Bar was recognised in the category Best Short List — a category dedicated to wine lists featuring fewer than 200 labels. And for us, that is exactly where the real beauty lies: personality is not created by the largest selection, but by a thoughtful one. A wine list that is carefully curated. One that reflects character, sparks curiosity and invites discovery. One that offers guests not just bottles, but stories, origins, craftsmanship and genuine enjoyment.

For us, this Silver Star is far more than an award. It is a confirmation of the path we have chosen for the CHIN-CHIN Bar: a wine bar in the heart of Regensburg’s Old Town that combines international wine culture with personal hospitality. A place for conversations, encounters and memorable evenings — and for wines that are selected not by chance, but with care, curiosity and attention to detail.

The award ceremony took place as part of the Star Wine List of the Year Germany-Austria-Switzerland 2026, where the best wine lists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were honoured across several categories. The international competition continues all the way to a global final — a reflection of the prestige this recognition holds within the wine world.

What makes us especially proud is the fact that, as a bar from Regensburg, we were recognised alongside renowned venues from Berlin, Nuremberg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hanover and Trier. To us, this proves one thing: great wine experiences are not created only in major cities. They are created wherever people are passionate about hospitality — especially here in Regensburg.

This Silver Star reflects our belief that a great wine list does not need to be loud. It can be refined, focused, surprising and approachable. It can honour classics while opening the door to new discoveries. It can inspire curiosity without ever overwhelming. And above all, it should do exactly what we love most at CHIN-CHIN every single day: bring people together.

Our sincere thanks go to the team behind Star Wine List, to the jury and to everyone who made this special moment possible. The independent judging panel included internationally respected wine experts such as Ferran Centelles, Stephen Wong and Mikk Parre.

Most of all, however, we would like to thank our team and our guests. Without you, the CHIN-CHIN Bar would not be what it is today: a vibrant place in the heart of Regensburg where wine, bar culture, the city and its people come together.

We are incredibly grateful for this Silver Star — and even more excited to celebrate it together with you.

Cheers from the CHIN-CHIN Bar Regensburg.
