Mr Weber, SVENSCAR is known for exclusive Volvo vehicles and first-class service. Why do you choose to engage in social causes as well?
For me, business success is about more than just numbers. Anyone in a position of responsibility should also give something back, especially to the region where they live and work. Supporting social initiatives has always been second nature to me and is my way of showing appreciation for the community.
Among other things, you support the Aidstanzgala in Regensburg. What inspires you about this project?
The Aidstanzgala brings together art, dance and social commitment in a truly unique way. It raises awareness of important social issues while also generating donations for people in need. I find this combination of emotion, creativity and practical support incredibly powerful.
The Jazzclub Regensburg is another organisation you support. Why is culture important to you?
Cultural institutions such as the Jazzclub Regensburg play a vital role in bringing people together. They encourage exchange, diversity and creativity. Local culture can only thrive when it receives support from the community. I see this as an investment in a vibrant city and a rich cultural life. And, of course, I’m a passionate jazz enthusiast myself. Just listen to a great jazz recording through the sound system of a Volvo — it’s a wonderful experience.
You are also involved in supporting sport in Regensburg.
Sport teaches values such as discipline, respect and perseverance. We support both the Eisbären Regensburg and Galaxy Gym. These organisations provide young people in particular with a positive environment in which they can develop both physically and mentally. We believe opportunities like these are hugely important — not only from a sporting perspective, but also for society as a whole.
What would you like to achieve through your commitment in the long term?
My aim is to support sustainable projects that make a genuine difference. I would like to see more business owners recognise the positive impact they can have through regional involvement. When business, culture, sport and social initiatives work together, real value is created for everyone.
